Please consider making a contribution today to the Baden Powell Campfire Area Adopt A Bench Campaign. Each bench costs $250. For each $250 contribution you make, we will affix to one of the benches a brass nameplate with the message of your choice. The Adopt a Bench Campaign is a great way to recognize your Troop or Crew, or a dedicated Scout or Scouter.
Each contribution will help us to achieve our goal. All contributions of $50 or more will be recognized on a plaque which will hang in the RSR Dining Hall for all to see.

B-P Campfire Area Adopt-A-Bench Campaign
This summer Rotary Scout Reservation will be unveiling the Baden Powell Campfire Area, a dedicated campfire space to enhance the summer camp program at RSR. The Baden Powell Campfire Area is a natural amphitheater nestled in an isolated and picturesque wooded area, yet it is also close enough to the parking lot to support easy access for parents and visitors on Family Night.
To further develop the campfire area, and improve comfort for our Scouts and guests, we would like to install terraced bench seating. To make this dream a reality we need your help!
RSR’s Internet Equipped Training Center
The opening of Summer Camp 2011 also marked the opening of RSR’s brand new internet-connected Leader Training Center in the Camp Office. The new training center features two PC workstations, a laser printer, and a projector to support classroom instruction. Best of all, we can now offer access to high speed internet thanks to a partnership with Hudson Valley Communications and their cutting edge internet service technology.
Internet access at camp has already allowed leaders the opportunity to take advantage of BSA’s online training program through MyScouting.org. The center is also available for leaders to communicate with work or home. In addition to the two PC workstations, a third wired access point is available for personal laptop use. Wi-Fi access is also available.
The Training Center was paid for through contributions to the RSR Thunderbird Club. Special thanks also to John and Matt Guzzo of Hudson Valley Communications, and to Scouters Jim Sapienza and John Nolan for their time and technical expertise in helping to set up the office network.

2013 Program Schedule is Here!
The 2013 RSR Summer Camp program schedule is here, featuring over 40 merit badges - including Search and Rescue Merit Badge!
Search and Rescue is one of BSA’s newest merit badges, introduced in June 2012. This is a unique, older boy experience that will fit right at home as part of RSR’s Community Safety program alongside longtime favorites such as First Aid, Fire Safety, and Emergency Preparedness. Search and Rescue Merit Badge is highly recommended for Scouts age 13 and above.
To see everything RSR will be offering this summer, please download the 2013 Daily Program Schedule.
Merit Badge Prerequisites
The merit badge program at RSR is specifically designed to reflect the outdoor experience of camp. As a result, nearly all merit badges offered may be completed entirely at camp. In some cases, however, a requirement may be more easily or necessarily completed at home. In such cases the Scout is asked to bring evidence of completion for review by his merit badge counselor. The list of merit badges that contain prerequisites may be found here: Merit Badge Prerequisites 2013.pdf
